Lotus-Maeve Update: 29/03/25

Lotus-Maeve is feeling very poorly right now, and this week has been particularly hellish. She’s currently on 3 or 4 different sets of antibiotics and has an infection called staphylococcus, which they believe may have come from the new port fitted last week during surgery. This means she may need a new one, and if the antibiotics don’t work, it would require yet another surgery.

She’s also dealing with a urine infection, and she’s had another blood transfusion. Her heart rate has been extremely high, her Hemoglobin levels are low, and she’s spiked more fevers in the last few days than I can count. Not to mention, she started a new treatment plan for her chemo at the beginning of the week. When her bone marrow results came back, they weren’t what they expected. They had planned to put her on a standard treatment plan for Block 2, but instead, she’s now on an intermediate plan. This meant she was scheduled for surgery to have chemo administered through a lumbar puncture into her brain, which she’s now had 4 times in total.

She’s also on anti-sickness medication today.

She isn’t eating much at all and hardly drank anything all day, poor little thing. She has an NG feeding tube fitted, through which she receives both medication and feeds. Additionally, she has a port fitted, which is like a disk placed under her skin and accessed with needles to administer medication. This port is what I mentioned earlier, as they believe her staphylococcus infection may have come from it. However, I’m really hoping that’s not the case, and I’m praying the antibiotics work, so she doesn’t need to undergo another surgery.
