Ready to “go nuts” for MacMoray 2026!?

The news that MacMoray Festival will return in 2026 has been met with great delight by thousands of music-lovers in the area. Organiser Andy Macdonald has gone through a lot since starting the Elgin-based event in 2022, and believed that this would be the last event. But he has found the energy to go again – and said he is buzzing to bring the festival back next year. Well, in typical Andy fashion, he said he was ready to “go nuts” when the event returned. It’s fantastic for Moray, both economically and for locals, to have such a big event right on our doorsteps. Long may it continue.

MacMoray “is going nowhere” says Andy Macdonald the organiser of the Elgin music festival who’s confirmed it will return after attracting 20,000 people to Cooper Park this weekend. He also has said he is planning to “go nuts” when organising the event’s 2026 edition. The 41-year-old announced on Sunday evening that the festival is “going nowhere” and will be returning to Elgin’s Cooper Park next year for the sixth time.

Tickets are already on sale with the event due to take place on May 2 and 3, 2026. The weekend was originally planned to be the final MacMoray – but Andy said it will return due to its success. “I’m over the moon,” he said. “I have been working on it for some time and I needed this weekend to go well. Everything went great. “When I announced I was giving it up, the support was mental. And that was a turning point. Since then my head working on saving it.
