“Hi a wee update for this morning. Ward round which may seem very confusing to read but the Consultants have just done their rounds. It’s quite a bit confusing as she’s had to miss days of some chemo, due to her bloods being low last week. The consultants just told me that her bloods are low again so can’t start her 2nd week of this block of it, which were supposed to begin tomorrow as they’re low. So she’s getting a blood transfusion today or tomorrow to try bring some of her levels back up before she can start week 2 of this second block. Her neutrophils are low which are a type of white blood cell they need to be at 0.3 to have one of her chemos they were at 0.2 yesterday. They went down again to 0.1 today so they need to give her the transfusion to hopefully bring it back up and a wee break before the next set of the block so she won’t be getting any chemo tomorrow because her other blood count is low also. But she can have all her chemo today because it is still part of last week’s block if this makes any sense. It’s all very confusing. I hope the transfusion helps as it’s just seems to be one set back after the next constantly. Moving forward every time I think we’re getting somewhere we seem to end up taking 6 steps backwards.
I am a very exhausted mum today, I’m just struggling as yesterday was such a good day. I know its only early but it just seems so much already for only being awake for a couple hours 🙃Â
